Animal Resources Innovation and technology Transfer Department

The Department of Animal Resources Innovation and technology Transfer is under the supervision of Deputy Directorate of Animal Resources Development at RAB. Its main objective is to ensure effective transfer of technologies and innovations to animal resources value chain actors for improved food security and household income

Key Functions

  1. Coordination of animal resources programs under the department

  2. Provide technical guidance for formulation, review and implementation of policies, legislation, standards, plans and strategies in the areas of animal production and animal health,

  3. Formulate new business opportunities, principles and technical norms on potentiality and effectiveness of Animal Resources Technology Transfer and, innovations as it is highlighted in the national policies, strategies and guidelines..

  4. Provide technical assistance on measures meant for ensuring prevention, protection, diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases;

  5. Provide technical backstopping to projects dealing with the animal resources sub sector development in the country;

  6. Coordinate the Planning, Monitoring and evaluation of animal resources innovations and technology transfer activities under animal resources department

  7. Ensure partnership with national, regional and international stakeholders in animal resources research

  8. Promote collaboration with research institutions; facilitate more public-private research initiatives for the good of animal resources sector beneficiaries.

  9. Ensuring that all applicable regulations, policies, strategies, procedures and decisions are implemented in all programs under the department

Dr Fabrice NDAYISENGA

Head of Department Animal Resources Research and Technology Transfer

Dr Fabrice NDAYISENGA Is the Head of Department Animal Resources Research and Technology Transfer at Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board (RAB) and Delegate for Rwanda at the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) since March 2019

Dr Fabrice NDAYISENGA holds a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and a Master’s degree in Economics for Livestock Development and Policy Analysis from Université Cheikh Anta Diop Dakar – Senegal. He also holds a Master’s degree in Project Management from Dakar school of Management

Dr Fabrice Ndayisenga has got significant experience serving in various positions, having been the Planning officer at Rwanda Animal Resources Development Authority RARDA from March 2010 to December 2013, then from December 2013 to September 2015 as a Director of Planning and M&E unit at RAB. From October 2015 up to March 2019 as Animal Resource Production and Extension Specialist;
