The Digital ID registration and photo-taking exercise has started. All residents, from newborn babies onwards, are being registered and photographed, including students.

Below are some of the questions commonly asked by students:

1. How will students who live at school and cannot go to the designated registration sites be photographed?

As part of NIDA’s established procedures, students who live in boarding schools will be reached at their schools, where they will be assisted with the registration and photo-taking process.

2. Which documents should students bring when going to verify their information and have their photo taken for the Digital ID?

When going to the registration site, a student should bring their existing ID, if they already have one, or their civil registration/application number if they have not yet obtained an ID, as well as the ID numbers of their parents.

Students under the age of 16 are required to be accompanied by one of their parents, who will confirm that the information provided by the student is accurate. If the student does not have their biological parents, they should be accompanied by a legally recognized guardian, who will verify the information provided.

3. What happens if a student does not know their civil registration/application number or their parents’ ID numbers?

If a student does not know their civil registration/application number, NIDA staff will be able to retrieve it from the system, along with the ID numbers of their parents.

For students under the age of 16 who live in boarding schools, NIDA staff will assist them in providing their personal information. Afterwards, the parent will go to the district where they reside to verify the student’s information and confirm the information provided by the child at school.
