The Digital ID will provide a secure way of identifying individuals, protecting their personal information, and making it easier for everyone to access both public and private services. Persons with disabilities are also among those who need to access government services. Therefore, it is important for them to be photographed and registered so that they can obtain a Digital ID.

Some of the biometric data captured at the registration site include the facial image, iris, and all ten fingerprints for individuals aged five years and above, while for children under five years old, only the facial image is captured.

For people with physical disabilities affecting certain body parts, the biometric data that can be captured from the unaffected parts will be collected. For example, a person with a visual impairment whose eyes cannot provide usable iris information will have the other applicable biometric data captured.

People with mental health conditions are also eligible to be photographed and registered for a Digital ID, as they may need essential services such as healthcare and social support. For their biometric data to be captured, they must be accompanied by a legally authorized guardian or person responsible for them, who provides the required consent.
