Nyamagabe Station is one of the 13 stations of RAB. It is located in Southern specifically at Nyamagabe district, Gasaka sector, Ngiryi Cell and Munyege Village. It covers two districts namely Nyamagabe and Nyaruguru Districts.

Nyamagabe station is composed by three sites, namely:

1. Akanyirandori site: This site is located in Nyamagabe district at Tare sector. This site has area of 6 Ha for which the seed of potatoes, wheats, peas, beans and forage seed/Pasture are multiplied. There is also Agro-forestry trees on Akanyirandori site.

1. Kitabi site: This site is located in Nyamagabe at Kitabi sector. This site has area of 8 ha for which the seed of potatoes, wheats, peas, beans are multiplied and also we conducted research of new seed varieties on that area.

1. Sigira site: This site is located in Uwinkingi and Kitabi sector, and across Nyungwe forest, it covered area of 76 ha for which the seed of potatoes, wheats, peas, beans, passion fruits and tree tomato/Tamarillo are multiplied and also conducted research of new seed varieties on that area.

Programs operating in Nyamagabe Station include:

• Seed production and multiplication (Irish Potatoes, Peas, Bean, Wheat)

• Cereals Program/ Maize, Wheat

• Pulses and Oil Crops Program /Beans

• Roots & Tubers Program /Irish Potato

• Horticulture program

• Veterinary service Program

• Commercial insect Program

Research activities in Nyamagabe station are conducted within the above-mentioned programs operating in Nyamagabe and the agricultural extension is carried out by extension agents in the area of Nyamagbe and Nyaruguru Districts as covered by the Station.
