Ngoma Station
Ngoma station is one of the 13 stations under RAB, is located in the Eastern Province, Ngoma District, Kibungo Sector, Administratively, Ngoma Station covers 3 Districts namely Kayonza, Ngoma, and Kirehe.
The station was founded in 1989 and started as a satellite to Karama Station to reinforce the regional banana program;
Climate and location:
There are main programs operating in the station, namely Cereal (Rice and Maize), Pulse and Oils crops (Soybean, Bean), Horticulture (Mango), Root and Tubers (cassava), Integrated soil and fertility management, Irrigation and mechanization, Aquaculture and Fisheries, Ruminant and veterinary services, Banana and Coffee programs;
All its activities are worked in 5 sites namely Gahororo (in Ngoma), Kibungo (in Ngoma), Rukira, and Mahama (in Kirehe);
Ngoma Station has also 300 Ha used as a “Quarantine Post” in Kayonza and another 97Ha which is used for natural forest and Savana (Ibandamakera) in Kirehe District, Mpanga sector.
