On November 17, 2023, Dr. Florence Umuhoza, the Deputy Director General in charge of Agriculture Development, warmly welcomed H.E. Wang Xuekun, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Rwanda, during a courtesy visit. Their discussions centered on fortifying cooperation between the two nations in the sphere of agricultural development.

Following their insightful dialogue, Ambassador Wang paid a visit to the China-Rwanda Agriculture Technology Demonstration Center situated in Rubona. There, he personally observed various activities taking place, including the cultivation of mushrooms using Juncao technology, paddy rice farming, and more.

Furthermore, Ambassador Wang took the opportunity to meet with trainees participating in a specialized course focused on the cultivation and processing technology of tropical crops in Rwanda. This particular training program was established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between RAB and the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences.
