The 16th National Agriculture Show Concludes on 29th July 2023

The 16th National Agriculture Show concluded amidst great anticipation and excitement on July 29th, 2023. The Honorable Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources, Dr. Ildephonse Musafiri, presided over the ten-day event, which commenced on July 20th, 2023, at the renowned Mulindi Show Ground. The 16th National Agriculture show was held under the theme "Transforming Agriculture into a Resilient and Competitive Sector through Technology, Innovation, and Investment," setting the stage for a pivotal moment in the agricultural industry.

Exhibitors from various corners of the country gathered to showcase cutting-edge technologies and innovations in agriculture. Of particular note was the unveiling of newly developed crop seeds and livestock breeds, promising significant advancements in productivity and sustainability.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore a wide range of agricultural equipment, from state-of-the-art soil testing and land preparation machinery to compost-making systems, irrigation solutions, and efficient harvest equipment. The emphasis on modern tools reflected the industry's commitment to maximizing productivity while minimizing environmental impact.

The event also highlighted post-harvest handling technologies, recognizing their crucial role in reducing food loss and ensuring food security. Innovations in processing, packaging, and transportation held the key to efficiency and food preservation.

Moreover, the Agriculture Show fostered collaboration and knowledge exchange among stakeholders, bringing together government officials, policymakers, investors, researchers, and farmers to explore transformative investments in agriculture.

In his closing remarks, Minister Musafiri expressed his gratitude to the stakeholders in agriculture and livestock for their efforts to ensure the successful development of agriculture and livestock. Earlier, the official opening of the event was graced by esteemed guests, including Dr. Ildephonse Musafiri, the Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources, and Dr. Uzziel Ndagijimana, the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning. Dr. Anxious Jongwe Masuka, the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, Climate, and Rural Development from Zimbabwe, also added significance to the gathering.

Over the course of the ten-day event, the 16th National Agriculture Show inspired further advancements in agriculture, paving the way for a brighter and more prosperous future for farmers and the nation as a whole. The show was attended by approximately 350 exhibitors and attracted about 40,000 visitors.
