RAB receives the French Counselor Agriculture and Food Counsellor for East Africa and Indian Ocean

On February 8, 2024, Dr. Florence Uwamahoro, Deputy Director General for Agriculture Development at RAB, received a courtesy visit from Mr.  Martin Parent, the French Counselor for agriculture and food Affairs for East Africa and the Indian Ocean. Their meeting was aimed at fortifying the ongoing bilateral cooperation in agricultural development.

Following their fruitful discussions, Martin Parent and his delegation embarked on a tour of various agricultural research endeavors, including visits to laboratories and a coffee germplasm plantation at Rubona Station. This provided them with insights into the country's adept utilization of research and technology for agricultural advancement.

Additionally, Mr. Martin Parent had the opportunity to explore the Inyambo cattle and bull center at RAB/Songa Station. This visit allowed him to witness firsthand the advanced technologies employed in the processing of bovine semen, showcasing Rwanda's commitment to adopting modern techniques for livestock development.

The interaction between Dr. Florence Uwamahoro and Martin Parent, along with the immersive tour of key agricultural research and development facilities, underscores the mutual dedication of both Rwanda and France to fostering innovation and progress in the agricultural sector. This visit serves as a testament to the enduring partnership between the two nations in the pursuit of sustainable and advanced agricultural practices.
