H.E. Hailemariam Desalegn Visits RAB's Isonga and Rubona Stations
August 12, 2024 – His Excellency Hailemariam Desalegn, former Prime Minister of Ethiopia and current Board Chair of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), visited the Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board’s (RAB) Isonga and Rubona stations in Huye District.
The Isonga station is exclusively dedicated to cattle livestock, focusing on enhancing the genetics and productivity of Rwanda’s cattle breeds. Meanwhile, the Rubona station is a hub for agricultural research, driving innovation in crop production and sustainability. During his tour, H.E. Desalegn explored the National Genetics Improvement Centre and the Cassava Research facilities, two key areas contributing to Rwanda’s agricultural progress.
Impressed by the strides Rwanda has made in both livestock and agricultural technologies, H.E. Desalegn praised the nation’s commitment to transforming its agricultural landscape. His visit not only highlighted the achievements in these sectors but also reinforced the importance of ongoing research and technological advancements in ensuring sustainable growth.
