On September 13, 2023, Dr. Telesphore Ndabamenye, Director General of RAB, visited a blended fertilizer factory under construction in Bugesera District in the East of Rwanda. The Director General toured the facility to see how construction activities are progressing and he appreciated the stage of completion.

The plant, which is 90% completed, is expected to produce 100,000 tons of fertilizer per year, and all construction activities are set to be completed before the end of this year. This move is expected to shift from generic to tailor-made fertilizers as part of the efforts to reduce the cost of fertilizers, as well as boost agricultural output and farmers’ income.
