January 27, 2026 – Dr. Florence Uwamahoro, Acting Director General of RAB, received a delegation from Senegal on a study tour in Rwanda. The delegation visited farmers in Rugende, Kicukiro District, gaining insights into Rwanda’s agricultural practices and the work of the Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board (RAB).

During the visit, delegates learned about Rwanda’s agricultural extension mechanisms, including the roles of Farmer Promoters and Farmer Field School (FFS) facilitators in supporting farmers. They were also briefed on RAB’s rice research programs, focusing on high-yielding rice varieties, marshland cultivation techniques, and collaboration with cooperatives for seed multiplication and distribution.

The delegation explored approaches for disseminating agricultural innovations and best practices to farmers and met with selected extension service providers to exchange experiences and learn from Rwanda’s achievements in farmer engagement.
