Director General of RAB Officiates the Closing of Training on Tropical Grain Crop Planting and Processing Technologies
On December 3, 2024, Dr. Telesphore Ndabamenye, Director General of the Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board (RAB), officiated the closing ceremony of a training program on tropical grain crop planting and processing technologies. The prestigious event was graced by the presence of H.E. Wang Xuekun, the Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda.
The training, held from November 14 to December 3, 2024, was organized by RAB in partnership with the China National Research Institute of Food and Fermentation Industries Corporation Ltd. It equipped participants with advanced skills in areas such as maize cultivation, processing, and storage; rice cultivation, processing, and storage; cold chain logistics technology for grain and other agricultural products; and mushroom cultivation, processing, and storage, among others.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Ndabamenye commended the strong bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and the People’s Republic of China. He urged the trainees to put their newly acquired knowledge into practice, promoting best agricultural practices and enhancing productivity in their respective fields.
H.E. Wang Xuekun, the Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the enduring relationship between China and Rwanda, which he attributed to visionary leadership on both sides. He reaffirmed China's commitment to supporting Rwanda in agricultural development, emphasizing the importance of such collaborations in achieving food security and sustainable development.
The joyous event concluded with the presentation of certificates to the trainees and an exchange of gifts, making it a truly memorable day.
