CATAS Training Concludes with a Call to Action for Enhanced Food Security
On November 28, 2023, the training course on cultivation and processing technologies for tropical food crops in Rwanda culminated in a closing ceremony graced by the presence of the Director General of RAB, Dr. Telesphore Ndabamenye, and His Excellency WANG Xuekun, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Rwanda.
In his address to the trainees, H.E. WANG emphasized the crucial role they are expected to play in Rwanda's pursuit of food security. He urged them to leverage the knowledge and skills acquired during the training to empower themselves and contribute meaningfully to the nation's agricultural development.
The event concluded with closing remarks from the Director General of RAB, reiterating his call for the trainees to translate their newfound expertise into tangible action. Certificates were presented to the trainees, and tokens of appreciation were bestowed upon the trainers as a gesture of gratitude for their dedication and expertise.
The training course, organized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between RAB and the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS), served as a testament to the strong partnership between the two institutions. During the official inauguration of the training course, the Director General of RAB, Dr. Telesphore Ndabamenye, encouraged the trainees to seize the opportunity to acquire valuable knowledge and skills that would enable them to enhance agricultural production and improve food handling practices, ultimately contributing to Rwanda's food security objectives.
